Colfosco belongs to the municipality of Corvara and has 531 inhabitants, most of them belonging to the Ladin language group. It is the oldest language in the Dolomites and is the highest place in the Alta Badia Dolomites holiday region at 1,645m above sea level. It is the ideal starting point for mountain tours, climbing and all alpine sports.
This small village is located at the foot of the Gardena Pass, where the characteristic and picturesque Gothic church is located. The steep rock faces of the Sella group and the panorama of the Gardena Pass appear in the background. In summer you can go on many hikes, for example through the nearby Edelweiß valley, you can reach the Puez-Geisler nature park or on the Sella massif is the famous Mittagstal, which is also used by the best skiers in winter.
